Activities - how the charity spends its money
Our main charitable purposes are to provide activities that are of benefit to children; to encourage the participation of older and more isolated people; to provide opportunities for volunteering in recreational gardening and gaining knowledge of wildlife and nature. We provide social activities for everyone living in the vicinity of High Kingsdown and support during the Covid 19 crisis.

Charitable objects
TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE LIVING AROUND HIGH KINGSDOWN, BUT NOT EXCLUDING INCIDENTAL BENEFIT TO THE RESIDENTS OF HIGH KINGSDOWN ITSELF, PARTICULARLY BY (A) PROVIDING, MAINTAINING AND RUNNING FACILITIES WHICH WILL BENEFIT CHILDREN IN THE WIDER AREA BY ENABLING THEM TO ENGAGE IN HEALTHY PLAY IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, REDUCING SOCIAL EXCLUSION, SINCE MANY OF THESE CHILDREN BELONG TO BAME COMMUNITIES AND ARE FROM FAMILIES WHICH ARE POOR, HAVE LITTLE ENGLISH, AND LIVE IN HIGH-RISE FLATS WITH NO OR FEW PLAY FACILITIES; AND (B) BY PROVIDING, MAINTAINING AND RUNNING FACILITIES WHICH WILL ENCOURAGE THE PARTICIPATION IN RECREATIONAL AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATIONS OF THE ELDERLY IN THE WIDER AREA AROUND HIGH KINGSDOWN, BUT NOT EXCLUDING INCIDENTAL BENEFIT TO THE ELDERLY RESIDENTS OF HIGH KINGSDOWN ITSELF; (C) BY PROVIDING, MAINTAINING AND RUNNING FACILITIES WHICH WILL ENCOURAGE THE PARTICIPATION IN RECREATIONAL GARDENING AND THE ACCUMULATION OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WILDLIFE AND NATURE BY YOUNG PEOPLE, STUDENTS AND GENERAL VOLUNTEERS FROM AROUND HIGH KINGSDOWN. ALL SUCH FACILITIES TO BE PROVIDED TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND NOT TO ANY KIND OF CLOSED GROUP, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, AGE, DISABILITY, ETHNICITY OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS.
