TO ADVANCE ANY SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE GENERAL BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF GREATER MANCHESTER (ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES) AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND DISTRESS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM THE EFFECTS OF HOMELESSNESS OR THE THREAT OF HOMELESSNESS.
