We advance the education of Colombian students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds ("lower strata neighbourhoods") in the subject of English by such means as the trustees deem appropriate, in particular by providing these students with a travel grant to enable them to take part in an English language programme in the UK which they could not otherwise afford.

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF COLOMBIAN STUDENTS FROM SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS ("LOWER STRATA NEIGHBOURHOODS") IN THE SUBJECT OF ENGLISH BY SUCH MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE, IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING THESE STUDENTS WITH A TRAVEL GRANT TO ENABLE THEM TO TAKE PART IN AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME IN THE UK WHICH THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD AND PROVIDING MENTORING SUPPORT AND ORGANISING ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR CULTURAL AWARENESS AND PEOPLE SKILLS TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL.
