Charitable objects
1) TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICALAND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF NORTHUMBRIA; 2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC ON MATTERS CONCERNED WITH THE HERITAGE, PROTECTION, CONSERVATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF HISTORIC PARKS, GARDENS AND OTHER DESIGNATED LANDSCAPES OF NORTHUMBRIA FOR THE PURPOSE OF THESE CLAUSES THE REGION OF NORTHUMBRIA IS DEFINED BY THE RIVER TWEED TO THE NORTH, THE NORTH SEA TO THE EAST, THE BOUNDARY WITH NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TO THE SOUTH INCLUDING THAT SECTION OF COUNTY DURHAM WHICH LIES SOUTH OF THE RIVER TEES UP TO THE BOUNDARY WITH NORTH YORKSHIRE, AND THE CUMBRIAN BOUNDARY WITHDURHAM AND NORTHUMBERLAND TO THE WEST.
