Charitable objects
(1) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AMONGST PERSONS RESIDENT OR WORKING IN THE GREATER LONDON AREA AND IN PARTICULAR PROVIDING SUCH PERSONS FROM BAME AND REFUGEE (BAMER) COMMUNITIES RESIDENT OR WORKING IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON (THE AREA OF BENEFIT) BY THE PROVISION OF:- A. INFORMATION, ADVOCACY AND ADVICE; B. LEGAL SERVICES C. EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN PROVIDING ADVICE WHICH THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE OBTAIN THROUGH LACK OF MEANS OR WHICH IT WOULD NOT BE REASONABLY PRACTICABLE OR APPROPRIATE TO OBTAIN ELSEWHERE (2) TO PROMOTE THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR WHICH PROVIDES ADVICE AND SUPPORT FOR BAMER COMMUNITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT BY:- A. DEVELOPING SKILLS AND CAPACITY TO DELIVER QUALITY ADVICE BY FRONTLINE STAFF AND TO IMPROVE OTHER FUNCTIONS SUCH AS GOVERNANCE; B. FACILITATE THE CREATION OF NEW VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS TO MEET UNMET CHARITABLE NEEDS/DEVELOP NEW SERVICES AND TO EXTEND EXISTING SERVICES TO MEET CHARITABLE NEEDS; C. FACILITATING PARTNERSHIP AND CO-OPERATION IN THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR. "VOLUNTARY SECTOR" IS DEFINED AS "CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS". CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY ORGANISATIONS.
