Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Penarth Civic Society focuses on the heritage, people and future development of Penarth. The Society was founded in 1988 after a group of people who wanted to save the old Baths Building from redevelopment started a campaign to save it for the town.The aims of that group have expanded to include the preservation and enhancement of all aspects of our heritage and environment.

FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES IN THE AREA COMPRISING THE COMMUNITY WARDS OF CORNERSWELL, PLYMOUTH, ST.AUGUSTINE'S, AND STANWELL, BEING THE TOWN OF PENARTH IN THE COUNTY OF THE VALE OF GLAMORGAN, PLUS IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING AREAS, WHICH AREA SHALL HEREINAFTER BE REFERRED TO AS "THE AREA OF BENEFIT". 1) TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN OR AFFECTING THE AREA OF BENEFIT 2) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THE ENVIRONMENT, GEOGRAPHY, HISTORY, NATURAL HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT 3) TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT, AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF HISTORIC OR PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.
