Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: (A) TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF GRAVES, CEMETERIES, BUILDING AND MEMORIALS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE NAVAL, MILITARY AND ARMED FORCES FROM FRANCE, INCLUDING THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED IN ALLIED FORCES AND JOINT TASK FORCES, WHO WERE KILLED DURING THE NAPOLEONIC WARS, THE FIRST WORLD WAR OR THE SECOND WORLD WAR, AS WELL AS OTHER CONFLICTS, INCLUDING RECENT ONES, WHERE SUCH FORCES WERE ENGAGED, IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION), THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN GLOBALLY BY LE SOUVENIR FRANCAIS; (B) TO ADVANCE CITIZENSHIP AMONG THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM AND OF FRANCE THROUGH THE COMMEMORATIONS OF MEMBERS OF THE NAVAL, MILITARY AND ARMED FORCES FROM FRANCE, INCLUDING THOSE SERVING IN ALLIED FORCES AND JOINT TASK FORCES, WHO WERE KILLED DURING THE NAPOLEONIC WARS, THE FIRST WORLD WAR OR THE SECOND WORLD WAR, AS WELL AS OTHER CONFLICTS, INCLUDING RECENT ONES, WHERE SUCH FORCES WERE ENGAGED; AND (C) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF MAJOR CONFLICTS INCLUDING THE NAPOLEONIC WARS, THE FIRST WORLD WAR AND THE SECOND WORLD WAR, AS WELL AS OTHER CONFLICTS WERE THOSE FORCES WERE ENGAGED, IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION), THROUGH ADVANCING EDUCATION IN THE LIVES OF THOSE COMMEMORATED BY LE SOUVENIR FRANCAIS AND IN THE HISTORY OF RELEVANT CEMETERIES, BUILDINGS AND MEMORIALS LOCATED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.
