Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (A) TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BY CULTIVATING AND MAINTAINING A COLLECTION OF PLANT SPECIES OF THE TEMPERATE WORLD. (B) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN HORTICULTURE AND THE CULTIVATION, PRESERVATION, PROPAGATION AND CONSERVATION OF PLANTS AND THEIR IMPACT UPON BIODIVERSITY AND THE CONSERVATION OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. THE ABOVE OBJECTS WILL BE FURTHERED OR ACHIEVED THROUGH THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN ARBORETUM AND BOTANIC GARDEN KNOWN AS WHITE HOUSE FARM ARBORETUM, SEVENOAKS, KENT AS A PUBLIC FACILITY TO BE ENJOYED BY PEOPLE OF ALL AGES.
