Activities - how the charity spends its money
We encourage education for all through the preservation of Bakewell's history and architecture via the Bakewell Old House Museum, a Grade II*House dating from 1534 which exhibits 9,000 objects in 13 rooms. We also present an annual programme of social and educational events and publish the Society's annual Journal and quarterly Newsletters. For more information go to: www.oldhousemuseum.org.uk

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1) TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE OF THE BAKEWELL DISTRICT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY PRESERVING AND MAINTAINING HERITAGE ASSETS IN BAKEWELL WHICH ARE OF PRESERVATION MERIT, AND IN PARTICULAR, BAKEWELL OLD HOUSE MUSEUM (GRADE II* HOUSE DATING FROM 1534 (HISTORIC ENGLAND LIST ENTRY NUMBER 1247512). 2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE BAKEWELL DISTRICT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF BAKEWELL OLD HOUSE MUSEUM (ARTS COUNCIL ACCREDITATION NUMBER 559) AND BY THE CREATION OF A HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH, THE USEFUL RESULTS OF WHICH WILL BE DISSEMINATED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.
