Appleby Emergency Response Group's purpose is to assist the community of the Parish of Appleby to plan, prepare and recover from an emergency. We work in partnership with voluntary and statutory authorities to plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies through the use of volunteers.

Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ('OBJECTS') ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: THE PROVISION OF RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF FLOODING AND SIMILAR NATURAL CATASTROPHES IN APPLEBY-IN-WESTMORLAND, CUMBRIA IN PARTICULAR BY: (A) PROVIDING A VOLUNTEER LED EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO THE COMMUNITY AS AND WHEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY THE EMERGENCY SERVICES. (B) WORKING TOGETHER WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS, TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND THE COMMUNITY, PLAN AND PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES. (C) PROVIDING A VOLUNTEER LED RECOVERY PROGRAMME FOR THE COMMUNITY FOLLOWING AN EMERGENCY.
