Charitable objects
THE CHARITY’S OBJECTIVES (‘THE OBJECTIVES’) ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY OF LEICESTER, LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND BY: • PROVIDING AND ASSISTING WITH THE PROVISION OF LEARNING ABOUT AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT BOTH ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND BY PRACTICAL AND ACADEMIC TRAINING AND EDUCATION • PROVIDING TRAINING IN TECHNIQUES OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION AND RECORDING • PROVIDING PUBLIC LECTURES AND EXHIBITIONS • ORGANISING A FESTIVAL OF ARCHAEOLOGY OF UP TO ONE MONTH DURATION • ENCOURAGING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE IN A BROAD RANGE OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES • WORKING CLOSELY WITH OTHER BODIES TO FURTHER INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY
