Charitable objects
TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN ORNITHOLOGY AND MATTERS RELATED TO THE CONSERVATION OF BIRDS, FLORA AND FAUNA, IN PARTICULAR WITHIN THE CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR AREA (“THE AREA”), BY: 2.1. ENCOURAGING THE STUDY OF THE CONSERVATION OF BIRDS AND THEIR HABITATS THROUGH THE HOLDING OF MEETINGS FOR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE DISCUSSION OF PAPERS AND RECORDS, SHOWING OF FILMS, THE PROVISION OF TALKS AND GUIDED WALKS; 2.2 CARRYING OUT REGULAR COUNTS OF BIRDS OCCURRING IN THE AREA AND PRODUCING AN ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BIRDS OCCURRING IN THE AREA; 2.3 OPERATING THE CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR RINGING STATION TO STUDY BIRDS PRESENT IN OR PASSING THROUGH THE AREA; 2.4 ASSISTING ALL ORNITHOLOGICAL STUDENTS AND PROJECTS WHICH ARE RELEVANT TO THE AREA; 2.5 UNDERTAKING OR FUNDING RESEARCH ON THE BIRDS, FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE AREA AND PUBLISHING THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT; 2.6 SEEKING TO ENFORCE ACTS OF PARLIAMENT AND BYE LAWS RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF BIRDS AND THE AREA AS A HABITAT FOR BIRDS.
