(A) TO PROTECT, PRESERVE AND RESTORE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TOWNSPEOPLE OF BURNLEY IN THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE, AND OF THE NATION AT LARGE, THE BUILDING KNOWN AS BURNLEY EMPIRE THEATRE SITUATED IN COW LANE, BURNLEY, AND ITS ENVIRONS, AND ITS HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES; (B) TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN, IMPROVE, ASSIST AND ADVANCE PUBLIC ACCESS, APPRECIATION AND UNDERSTANDING IN THE ARTS INCLUDING Û BUT NOT LIMITED TO Û DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE, DRAMA, POETRY, THE SPOKEN WORD, LITERATURE, MIME, OPERA, MUSIC, DANCE, SINGING, ART, PHOTOGRAPHY AND CINEMATOGRAPHY; (C) TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF BURNLEY AND ITS ENVIRONS.
