Sarbat Da Bhala is a Charitable Trust operating out of Derby. Our main activity is to advance the Sikh religion in the UK for the benefit of the public. We aim to establish Sikh Centres of Worship/ Education and to also to provide facilities (such as community Centres) in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation to the local residents.

Charitable objects
TO ADVANCE THE SIKH RELIGION IN THE UK FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, MAINLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: * LEADING AND FACILITATING RELIGIOUS PRACTICES, PRAYERS, CEREMONIES, SERMONS AND SEMINARS TO ENLIGHTEN OTHERS ABOUT THE SIKH RELIGION AND THE SIKH PRINCIPLE OF ‘SARBAT DA BHALA’; * PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING SIKH GURDWARAS WHICH ADHERE TO THE SIKH REHAT MARAYADA (CODE OF CONDUCT); * AS A PRACTICAL EXPRESSION OF FAITH PROVIDING RELIEF TO THOSE IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF NATURAL OR OTHER DISASTER; OR WHICH THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD THROUGH LACK OF MEANS. TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS SURROUNDING THE GURDWARA SAHIBS, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE AND ADVANCING EDUCATION FOR THE RESIDENTS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMUNITY CENTRES AND TO MAINTAIN, MANAGE OR CO-OPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A CENTRE FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS.
