Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:- 1.1 THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC REGARDING IGBO LANGUAGE AND HERITAGE; AND 1.2 THE ADVANCEMENT OF PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH, WITH A FOCUS ON HEALTHCARE ISSUES ESPECIALLY PREVALENT AMONGST THOSE OF AFRICAN ORIGIN LIVING IN ENGLAND AND WALES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY THE PROVISION OF HEALTHCARE AWARENESS PROGRAMMES AND SEMINARS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
