Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN: (A) THE BENEFITS OF HUMAN ORGAN DONATION ("ORGAN DONATION") AND TO MOBILISE, ENCOURAGE, FOSTER AND MAINTAIN THE INTEREST AND SUPPORT OF THE PUBLIC IN ORGAN DONATION. (B) ISSUES OF ROAD SAFETY WITH THE OBJECT OF REDUCING PERSONAL INJURY AND DEATH AMONGST ROAD USERS IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY PROMOTING SAFE PRACTICES IN RELATION TO PUBLIC ROAD USE. (2) THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND PRESERVATION OF GOOD HEALTH BY: (A) THE PROMOTION OF ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION AND BY SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE. (B) THROUGH THE PROVISION OF COMMUNITY SAFETY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS DEFIBRILLATORS AND BY SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM FIT. (3) THE RELIEF OF PARENTS, AND THEIR FAMILIES, WHO HAVE SUFFERED THE LOSS OF A CHILD, BY SIGNPOSTING TO RELEVANT SERVICES AND SUPPORT GROUPS AND PROVIDING INFORMATION, CONTRIBUTING TO THE FUNERAL COSTS, PAYING FOR FLOWERS AND A DONATION TOWARDS HEADSTONE COST, PROVIDING A HANDCAST OF THE CHILD OR FINGERPRINT JEWELLERY ALL AIMED AT SUPPORTING THOSE WHO ARE BEREAVED. (4) THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND PRESERVATION OF HEALTH OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER AND OTHER SERIOUS ILLNESSES BEING CARED FOR IN HOSPITALS LOCAL TO ST HELENS AND MERSEYSIDE IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING ITEMS AND SERVICES TO SUCH CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES/CARERS DESIGNED TO ENHANCE THEIR PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH, EASE THEIR SUFFERING AND/OR PROVIDE COMFORT AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. (5) SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES BY THE PROVISION OF GRANTS TO COMMUNITY PROJECTS WHICH ARE FURTHERING EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES.
