Curious Arts is a Newcastle Gateshead based charity championing and developing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual plus, arts, artists and audiences across the North East of England and beyond. Producers of award-winning Curious Festival, Curious Arts co-ordinate Queer Arts North and develop community-focused arts projects, artist commissions, youth groups and events.

Charitable objects
THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (‘OBJECTS’) ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH THE STAGING OF AN ANNUAL LGBTQIA ARTS AND CULTURE FESTIVAL AND THE PROVISION OF A PROGRAMME OF YEAR ROUND LOCAL AND NATIONAL ARTS ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO: A) ELIMINATE DISCRIMINATION AND INEQUALITY ON THE GROUNDS OF GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION; B) ADVANCE EDUCATION AND RAISE AWARENESS OF ISSUES RELATING TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY AND DISCRIMINATION AND THE NEEDS OF LGBTQIA PEOPLE AND THE ISSUES AFFECTING THEIR COMMUNITIES; AND C) CULTIVATE A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN RELATION TO PERSONS WHO IDENTIFY AS LGBTQIA. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE ‘LGBTQIA’ IS DEFINED AS LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER, QUEER, INTERSEX AND ASEXUAL.
