Charitable objects
THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (“OBJECTS”), TO BE CARRIED OUT IN SUCH PARTS OF THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE, ARE: 1) THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED, BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT THROUGH GRANT MAKING. 2) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE POOR AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED BY PROVIDING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS TO SUPPORT ACCESS TO EDUCATION AND TRAINING AND THE PROVISION OF EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES. 3) TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE PROVISION OF FUNDING TO SUPPORT CHARITABLE PROJECTS CONCERNED WITH: A) THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PRUDENT USE OF RESOURCES; B) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; C) THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT’ MEANS “DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS.”
