Charitable objects
THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE FUND UPON TRUST TO APPLY THE INCOME AND, AT THE TRUSTEESÆ DISCRETION, ALL OR ANY PART OR PARTS OF THE CAPITAL FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: 1. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH AND THE SAVING OF LIVES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY THE PROVISION OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT ('PPE') FOR USE BY FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS WITHIN THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE. 2. SUBSEQUENTLY, AND ONLY TO THE EXTENT ACUTE NEED FOR SUPPLEMENTAL PPE HAS IN THE TRUSTEES' VIEW BEEN MET, (A) FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH AND THE RELIEF OF NEED BY FUNDING OR OTHERWISE PROVIDING BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT AND COUNSELLING TO THE FAMILIES OF FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS WHO HAVE DIED SERVING COVID-19 PATIENTS, AND COUNSELLING OR ANY OTHER RELEVANT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN RESPECT OF THEIR EXPERIENCES IN THE COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS; AND (B) FOR THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES OF FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS WHO ARE IN FINANCIAL NEED. THE TRUSTEES SHALL NOT APPLY ANY PART OF THE FUND DIRECTLY IN RELIEF OF PUBLIC FUNDS, BUT MAY APPLY THE WHOLE OR ANY PART OF THE FUND IN SUPPLEMENTING PUBLIC FUNDS.
