Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:- FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO RELIEVE BY CHARITABLE MEANS ACROSS THE UK THE PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF BEREAVED PARENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE SUFFERING ILL-MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH DURING OR FOLLOWING EARLY PREGNANCY LOSS, MEANING PREGNANCIES TO 23 WEEKS AND 6 DAYS GESTATION, WITH THE AIM TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE COMFORT AND ONGOING SUPPORT. IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) PROVIDING COMFORT BAGS OF TOILETRIES FOR BOTH WOMEN AND THEIR PARTNERS WHO ARE ADMITTED UNEXPECTEDLY OR IN AN EMERGENCY TO HOSPITAL. B) PROVIDING THE CRADLE DEAR FRIEND LETTER TO BEREAVED PARENTS BEFORE OR DURING THE NHS DISCHARGE PROCESS, WHICH WILL SIGNPOST BEREAVED PARENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO CRADLE COUNSELLING, AS WELL AS TO OUR ONLINE SUPPORT PEER SUPPORT GROUPS AND LOCAL CRADLE NHS AMBASSADORS. C) PROVIDING A RANGE OF COUNSELLING AND THERAPY SERVICES TO BEREAVED PARENTS THAT HAVE RECEIVED THE CRADLE COMFORT BAG DURING THEIR CARE WITHIN THE SETTING OF A LAUNCHED CRADLE SERVICE IN THE NHS. D) PROVIDE SUPPORT AND INFORMATION ON ALL TYPES OF EARLY PREGNANCY LOSS INCLUDING BUT NOT EXCLUSIVE TO; CHEMICAL PREGNANCY, PREGNANCY OF UNKNOWN LOCATION, ECTOPIC PREGNANCY, MOLAR, MISCARRIAGE, MISSED MISCARRIAGE, TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY FOR MEDICAL REASONS (COMPASSIONATE INDUCTION) E) PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR AN NHS TRUSTS LOCAL COMMUNITY TO TAKE PART IN CRADLE GRIEF THERAPY PROJECTS, FOR EXAMPLE THE NATIONAL CRADLE PLANT THERAPY CAMPAIGN 2 CRADLESUNFLOWERS WHICH LAUNCHED IN APRIL 2020 F) PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR BEREAVED PARENTS TO PUT THEIR EMOTIONAL PAIN TO PURPOSE AND TO JOIN THE NATIONAL TEAM OF CRADLE AMBASSADORS, EACH ASSIGNED TO THEIR CHOSEN NHS TRUST. G) DO ALL SUCH LAWFUL THINGS THAT MAY FURTHER THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
