Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF LES ALDEN FOUNDATION IS TO RELIEVE POVERTY IN WORTHING, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN AN EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT. THIS ACTION MIGHT BE DIRECT OR INDIRECT. AN EXAMPLE OF DIRECT ACTION WOULD BE COLLECTING, STORING AND REDISTRIBUTING FREE UNIFORMS TO SCHOOL PUPILS OR SETTING UP A FOOD BANK. AN EXAMPLE OF INDIRECT ACTION MIGHT BE PUTTING DONORS OF MONEY, TIME OR SKILLS IN TOUCH WITH LOCAL GROUPS WHO NEED SUPPORT IN RELIEVING POVERTY, ACTING AS A CONDUIT AND PUTTING PROBLEMS IN TOUCH WITH SOLUTIONS. THOSE EXAMPLES ARE FOR CLARIFICATION BUT NOT DEFINING OR LIMITING. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
