The objectives of the Society shall be: To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit but ordinarily through the medium of Brass Band, including through the presentation of public concerts, recitals, audio and visual recordings and classes.

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE APPRECIATION, ENJOYMENT AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE ART AND SCIENCE OF MUSIC MAKING AND THE PERFORMING ARTS, IN PARTICULAR WITH BRASS INSTRUMENTS. ALSO, TO EDUCATE CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE, THE ELDERLY, THE DISADVANTAGED THROUGH DISABILITY AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY PROVIDING LESSONS, MASTERCLASSES, RECITALS, CONCERTS, RECORDINGS AND BY SUCH MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES DETERMINE FROM TIME TO TIME.
