Bow Street Police Museum is located on the site of the former Bow Street Magistrates' Court and Police Station. Through the delivery of exhibitions and associated events its purpose is to advance the education of the public in, and to promote good citizenship and a wider public appreciation of the history of policing and the criminal justice system in London and elsewhere.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN, AND TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND A WIDER PUBLIC APPRECIATION OF POLICING AND THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM THROUGH AN UNDERSTANDING OF, THE HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF POLICING AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IN LONDON AND ELSEWHERE BY: (A) THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A MUSEUM ON THE SITE OF THE FORMER POLICE STATION AND MAGISTRATES' COURT IN BOW STREET, LONDON OR ELSEWHERE; AND (B) THE CARRYING OUT OF SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE.
