Activities - how the charity spends its money
Closer Communities provides information, advice and guidance to families with a child with disabilities or complex medical health needs or SEND. We support the whole family through facilitating groups for parents/carers such as our Dads Behaving Madly Group and inclusive activities for our children and their siblings as well as whole family events.

1. TO PROMOTE THE SOCIAL INCLUSION OF THOSE SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLEX MEDICAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES LIVING IN NORTH YORKSHIRE AND EAST RIDING, WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY AS A RESULT OF THEIR COMPLEX MEDICAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES BY THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AND CARERS THROUGH ADVICE, INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE AND THROUGH RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND OTHER SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES. 2. THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES LIVING IN NORTH YORKSHIRE AND EAST RIDING BY ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN THIS AREA OF THE COUNTRY. 3. TO PROMOTE OTHER SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
