We support families, health and education professionals, and individuals who's lives are enlivened by those with a little extra chromosome...Down syndrome. Activities include 3-21, a monthly Saturday club where children can play and parents and carers can chat over coffee; Chatterbox, 3 Speech & Language groups for children aged 0-11; Professionals Network, supporting all professionals.

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS, IN YORK IN PARTICULAR BY: (A)OFFERING PERSONAL SUPPORT TO NEW PARENTS OR PARENTS WITH AN ANTENATAL DIAGNOSIS; (B)HOSTING A MONTHLY SESSION (THE 3-21 SATURDAY CLUB) WHERE FAMILIES CAN COME TOGETHER TO TALK AND PLAY; (C)THE PROVISION OF WEEKLY EARLY DEVELOPMENT GROUP’S FOR CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO PRE-SCHOOL DELIVERED BY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS; (D)THE PROVISION OF CHATTERBOX SESSIONS (WEEKLY SPEECH AND LANGUAGE GROUPS) DELIVERED BY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS TO IMPROVE SPEECH; (E)SUPPORTING RESEARCH THAT IS DEDICATED TO ANY ASPECT OF LIVING WITH DOWN SYNDROME, AND; (F)RAISING AWARENESS OF DOWN SYNDROME AND PROVIDING EDUCATION, INFORMATION, SUPPORT AND TRAINING IN THE SPECIFIC NEEDS AND ABILITIES OF PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME FOR THEIR PARENTS/CARERS AND PROFESSIONALS.
