We work alongside people with direct experience of social injustice and inequality to advocate for themselves and their communities publicly by providing training, support and mentoring, media meet ups and media opportunities.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND NEED AND THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY BY (A) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS REGARDING POVERTY, EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY, PARTICULARLY IN RESPECT OF COMMUNITIES WHICH ARE UNDER-REPRESENTED IN THE MEDIA AND IN OTHER PUBLIC ARENAS, IN PARTICULAR BY IMPROVING MEDIA AND PUBLIC REPRESENTATION OF SUCH COMMUNITIES; (B) PROMOTING AND PROVIDING ACTIVITIES AND ADVICE TO FOSTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS BY ENABLING ACCESS TO TRAINING AND SUPPORT; (C) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY BY DEVELOPING THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF MEMBERS OF SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES OF IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND HELP MEET THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY.
