The festival is underpinned by a year-round programme of research, residencies & community engagement projects.

FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN TEXTILES, FABRIC, CLOTHS, THREADS AND YARNS AND THEIR DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION AND INCLUSION AT EVENTS, SUCH AS FESTIVALS; AND B) SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS ENGAGED IN THE PROVISION OF ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES, WHICH TAKE PLACE PRIMARILY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN THE LANCASHIRE REGION.
