Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF LEE-ON-THE-SOLENT AND ITS SURROUNDING AREAS WITHIN HAMPSHIRE WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF AGE, RACE, GENDER, DISABILITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RELIGION OR OTHER PROTECTED CHARACTERISTIC:- 3.1.1 TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY THE PROVISION OF AN INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY LIBRARY FACILITY PROVING BOOKS, LEARNING MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, INFORMATION SERVICE AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES. 3.1.2 TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE. 3.1.3 TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES, SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. 3.1.4 TO ESTABLISH OR SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY BUILDING [“LEE HUB”] AND TO MAINTAIN OR MANAGE OR CO-OPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A BUILDING FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS
