THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN SRI LANKA AND THE UK BY MEANS OF BUT NOT LIMITED TO, MAKING GRANTS OR LOANS FOR ITEMS, EQUIPMENT, SERVICES AND FACILITIES, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF FOOD, CLEAN WATER, CLOTHING, ACCOMMODATION, COSTS OF RECEIVING MEDICAL TREATMENT AND LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMMES; (2) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE POOR AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN SRI LANKA AND UK, PRIMARILY BUT NOT LIMITED TO, GRANT MAKING TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES.
