THE OBJECT OF THE TRUST SHALL BE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, AND IN PARTICULAR CONCERNING THE HISTORY OF MINING AND QUARRYING IN THE ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT BY THE MAINTENANCE OF A MUSEUM FOR THE EXHIBITION OF TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY, GEOLOGICAL SPECIMENS, RECORDS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND ARCHIVES CONNECTED THEREWITH AND BY DEMONSTRATIONS OF PAST AND CONTEMPORARY MINING METHODS.
