Activities - how the charity spends its money
The main object of the CIO shall be to relieve suffering and distress amongst persons endangered by accidents or natural hazards or being in a vulnerable position, and in particular to promote and co-ordinate search and rescue arrangements in the county of Norfolk as directed by the Norfolk Constabulary, Norfolk Fire Service or other Appropriate Authority.

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO SHALL BE TO RELIEVE SUFFERING AND DISTRESS AMONGST PERSONS ENDANGERED BY ACCIDENTS OR NATURAL HAZARDS OR WHO ARE MISSING AND CONSIDERED TO POTENTIALLY BE IN DANGER, AND IN PARTICULAR; 1. TO PROMOTE AND CO-ORDINATE SEARCH AND RESCUE ARRANGEMENTS IN THE COUNTY OF NORFOLK AS DIRECTED BY THE NORFOLK CONSTABULARY, FIRE SERVICE OR OTHER APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY AND CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARDS SET BY THE ASSOCIATION OF LOWLAND SEARCH AND RESCUE. 2. TO SUPPORT SEARCH AND RESCUE ACTIVITIES IN OTHER UNITED KINGDOM GEOGRAPHICAL REGIONS AS REQUESTED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF LOWLAND SEARCH AND RESCUE OR OTHER MEMBER TEAMS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF LOWLAND SEARCH AND RESCUE. 3. TO SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITIES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS EXCEPT WHEN DIRECTED BY THE POLICE, FIRE SERVICE OR OTHER APPROPRIATED AUTHORITY THAT SEARCH AND RESCUE ACTIVITIES TAKE PRIORITY. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARITIES ACT 2011.
