(1) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE DISABLED FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY MEANS OF A) THE PROVISION OF SHELTER AND DAY CARE FOR DISABLED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR CARERS; B) THE PROVISION OF SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT, ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE AND FACILITIES FOR REHABILITATION OF DISABLED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE, WITH THE AIM OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; C) THE PROVISION OF ADVICE AND INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC TO REDUCE STIGMA ASSOCIATED WITH DISABLED PERSONS AND TO REDUCE THEIR SOCIAL EXCLUSION. (2) TO RELIEVE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AMONG POOR PEOPLE AND PEOPLE IN NEED, PARTICULARLY THOSE FAMILIES WITH DISABLED CHILDREN, BY MEANS OF, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, MAKING GRANTS FOR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, EQUIPMENT, SERVICES AND FACILITIES, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF FOOD, WATER AND CLOTHING, AND LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMMES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SAID PERSONS.
