To relieve suffering and distress among persons endangered by accident or natural causes, to provide adequate arrangement for the secure and efficient search and rescue of any such person or persons so endangered. To educate and inform the public about the dangers of mountaineering and other related outdoor pursuits and to undertake preventative publicity.
