Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO (THE “OBJECTS”) ARE: 3.1.1 THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DECIDE OF NECESSITOUS MEMBERS, FELLOWS OR ASSOCIATES OR FORMER OR DECEASED FELLOWS, MEMBERS OR ASSOCIATES OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY THEIR WIVES, PARTNERS, HUSBANDS, CHILDREN OR OTHER DEPENDENTS INCLUDING THE WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS (THE “BENEFICIARIES”) WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES MAY BE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE; AND 3.1.2 THE PAYMENT BY WAY OF GRANT OR OTHERWISE TO ANY CHARITY OR CHARITIES ASSISTING IN THE AFORESAID OBJECTS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE BENEFITS OF SUCH CHARITY OR CHARITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF ANY OF THE BENEFICIARIES. THE BELOW DEFINITIONS USED WITHIN THE OBJECTS SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MEANINGS: FELLOW: MEANS A PERSON ADMITTED AS A FELLOW OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY’S ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION AND BY-LAWS. MEMBER: MEANS A PERSON ADMITTED AS A MEMBER OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY’S ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION AND BY-LAWS. ASSOCIATE: MEANS A PERSON ADMITTED AS AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY’S ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION AND BY-LAWS. CHILDREN: REFERENCE TO CHILDREN SHALL INCLUDE STEP CHILDREN AND ADOPTED CHILDREN OF A FELLOW, MEMBER OR ASSOCIATE AND SHALL MEAN AN INDIVIDUAL UP TO THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN UNLESS THEY ARE IN FURTHER EDUCATION WHEN THE MAXIMUM AGE SHALL BE TWENTY-FIVE.
