Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF PEOPLE IN NORTH LONDON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA:- TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY PROVIDING ONLINE COURSES FOR ADULTS TO ASSIST WITH EMPLOYMENT AND LESSONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN MATHS /ENGLISH, DRAMA/DANCE, SPORTS AND ART/CRAFTS. TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE. TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING COUNSELLING AND SUCH OTHER SUPPORT AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF THOSE GRANTED REFUGEE STATUS AND THEIR DEPENDANTS IN NEED THEREOF SO AS TO ADVANCE THEM IN LIFE AND ASSIST THEM TO ADAPT WITHIN A NEW COMMUNITY, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING ESOL LESSONS. THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED, BY REASON OF THEIR AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL THINK FIT, WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS ON PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19), IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE PROVIDING FOOD PARCELS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
