Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: - TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR ETHNIC ORIGIN (IN PARTICULAR, MEMBERS OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY: - PROVIDING A LOCAL NETWORK GROUP THAT ENCOURAGES AND ENABLES MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY; AND BY PROVIDING RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, TRAINING AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES, OUTINGS, EVENTS, SOCIAL TRIPS (INCLUDING TRANSPORT AND REFRESHMENTS), PROGRAMS OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR HEALTH, WELLBEING AND DEVELOPMENT, INFORMATION, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AT HOME TO ENABLE THEM TO ACCESS THE INTERNET. - TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE - TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN CARIBBEAN ART, CULTURE AND HERITAGE. - THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY, OF PEOPLE LIVING IN GREATER LONDON BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY FOR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR SUCH ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
