Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S KEY OBJECTS ('OBJECTS') ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED WORDED AS CHARITABLE AS FOLLOWS: A) THE RELIEF OF IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THE PEOPLE OF SOMALI DESCENT IN SMALL HEATH, BIRMINGHAM, ITS SURROUNDING AREAS AND IN SOMALIA, INCLUDING REFUGEES, ASYLUM SEEKERS AND VULNERABLE MIGRANTS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF POVERTY, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING INFORMATION, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE, REPRESENTATION, TRANSLATION, AND INTERPRETATION SERVICES IN MATTERS SUCH AS ASYLUM AND IMMIGRATION, WELFARE BENEFITS, HOUSING, HEALTH EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT. (B) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF SOMALI COMMUNITY IN PARTICULAR REFUGEES ASYLUM SEEKERS AND VULNERABLE MIGRANTS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC IN ORDER TO ASSIST THEIR INCLUSION AND INTEGRATION IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY. (C) THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AMONGST THOSE BENEFICIARIES WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED BY PROVIDING EDUCATION, PROMOTING AND PROTECTING THEIR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH AND TRAINING TO BUILD CAPACITY TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. (D) TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED MIGRANTS FOR EXAMPLE, BY PROMOTING THEIR EDUCATION ESPECIALLY OF CHILDREN AND JUVENILES; WOMEN AND OTHER DISADVANTAGED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND INCREASING THEIR EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION WITHIN THE WIDER COMMUNITY IN UK IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET THEIR NEEDS TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLAUSE (B) AND (C), ‘THE WORD SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ WOULD MEAN BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART O SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: UNEMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, YOUTH OR OLD AGE, ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH); SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR DEPENDENCY INCLUDING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS’ DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF SEX, RACE, DISABILITY, ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION, CREED, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER REASSIGNMENT; POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT, RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY BREAKDOWN, POOR HOUSING (THAT IS HOUSING THAT DOES NOT MEET BASIC HABITABLE STANDARDS), CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY).
