THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: THE CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN SUCH PARTS OF THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DETERMINE BY THE MAKING OF GRANTS AND DONATIONS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, TO CHARITIES AND NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATIONS THAT SUPPORT INITIATIVES FOR TREE PLANTING AND REFORESTATION, THE PROTECTION OF SCARCE NATURAL RESOURCES AND BIODIVERSITY AND THE CONSERVATION OF ENDANGERED HABITATS AND ANIMAL SPECIES.
