THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM, ARE: 1) TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 30 FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF: (A) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION; (C) RELIEVING UNEMPLOYMENT; (D) PROVIDING RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE. 2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING INFORMATION, SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP AN INDIVIDUAL’S CAPABILITIES, COMPETENCES, SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING. 3) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A FOODBANK AND OUTREACH SUPPORT FOR THE HOMELESS PROVIDING FOOD AND ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED.
