Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, WHICH ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT IN NOTTINGHAM AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, ARE: 1) THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH THE PROVISION OF GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT PROJECTS AND ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE: A) WORKING TO ELIMINATE DISCRIMINATION AND INEQUALITY ON THE GROUNDS OF GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION; B) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS OF ISSUES RELATING TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY AND DISCRIMINATION AND THE NEEDS OF LGBTQ+ PEOPLE AND THE ISSUES AFFECTING THEIR COMMUNITIES; C) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN RELATION TO PERSONS WHO IDENTIFY AS LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER, OR INTERSEX; AND D) PROVIDING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH LGBTQ PEOPLE MAY CONNECT AND BUILD A SENSE OF COMMUNITY. 2) THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AMONGST PEOPLE WHO ARE EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER RE-ASSIGNMENT THROUGH THE PROVISION OF GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT PROJECTS AND ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE WORKING TO PREVENT SUCH PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY.
