Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE 3.1 TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF YOUNG PERSONS WHO ARE OR WHO HAVE RECENTLY BEEN PUPILS OF ANY SCHOOL IN SOHAM, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, AND WHOM THE CHARITY TRUSTEES CONSIDER TO BE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND IN PARTICULAR, BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING 3.1.1 BY AWARDING TO SUCH YOUNG PERSONS SCHOLARSHIPS OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TENABLE AT ANY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, OR OTHER INSTITUTION OF FURTHER (INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL) EDUCATION APPROVED FOR THE PURPOSE BY THE CHARITY TRUSTEES; 3.1.2 BY PROVIDING OR CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS SUCH SPECIAL BENEFITS OF ANY KIND NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY (OR ITS SUCCESSOR BODY) FOR ANY SCHOOL IN SOHAM AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE AGREED BETWEEN THE CHARITY TRUSTEES AND THE GOVERNORS OF SUCH SCHOOL. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE OR WHO HAVE BEEN RESIDENT WITHIN SOHAM, CAMBRIDGESHIRE.
