TO RELIEVE INFIRMITY AND SICKNESS IN AND TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH OF PERSONS SERVED BY OR REFERRED TO HOSPITALS IN THE WORCESTER HEALTH DISTRICT IN ANY WAY WHICH SHALL BE FOR THE TIME BEING CHARITABLE IN LAW AND IN PARTICULAR FOR THOSE PURPOSES BUT WTIHOUT IN ANY WAY LIMITING THEIR GENERALITY TO PAY FOR OR CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE ACQUISITION MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING COSTS OF EQUIPMENT AND APPARATUS FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT.
