Activities - how the charity spends its money
The charity funds prescription costs of medicinal cannabis for those with Intractable Epilepsy when prescribed by a specialist clinician on the GMC register and in line with NHS guidance. The full criteria to qualify for funding are set out in the charity grants policy. Prescription costs will be met strictly in line with our charitable objects.

Charitable objects
2.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH, IN PARTICULAR FOR CHILDREN WITH INTRACTABLE EPILEPSY, BY: A. PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE COST OF PRESCRIPTIONS FOR MEDICAL GRADE CANNABIS PRESCRIBED BY A NAMED SPECIALIST CLINICIAN ON THE SPECIALIST REGISTER OF THE GENERAL MEDICAL COUNCIL AND THAT MEDICINAL GRADE CANNABIS HAS BEEN SO PRESCRIBED IN ACCORDANCE WITH UK GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION, REGULATIONS, AND NHS GUIDELINES, AS MAY VARY FROM TIME TO TIME, AUTHORISING SUCH A PRESCRIPTION; B. PROVIDING GRANTS OR BURSARIES TO ENABLE SUFFERERS OF THE CONDITION TO ACCESS MEDICAL CARE AND TREATMENT; A. RAISING AWARENESS OF THE CONDITION KNOWN AS INTRACTABLE EPILEPSY; B. SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS CONDITION; C. DISSEMINATING INFORMATION ABOUT THE AVAILABLE TREATMENTS; D. PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT AND INFORMATION SERVICES; E. SUCH OTHER SUITABLE MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES IN THEIR DISCRETION SEE FIT SUCH AS WHICH FUNDING MEDICAL RESEARCH INTO EPILEPSY WHERE THE RESULTS OF THAT WILL BE DISSEMINATED FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT.
