Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY (?THE OBJECTS?) ARE: 1.1 FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF WOMEN IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY: (A) AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS, SCHOLARSHIPS, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OR INSTITUTION OF HIGHER OR FURTHER EDUCATION; (B) FINANCIALLY ENABLING THEM, TO UNDERTAKE TRAVEL IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT EDUCATION OR TO PREPARE FOR ENTRY TO ANY OCCUPATION, TRADE OR PROFESSION ON LEAVING ANY EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT; (C) MAKING GRANTS TO ASSIST WITH LIVING EXPENSES AND GENERAL MAINTENANCE TO INCLUDE THE FUNDING OF CHILDCARE PROVISIONS TO ENABLE WOMEN TO PURSUE EDUCATION; 1.2 TO ASSIST IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT, ANY CHARITY WHOSE AIMS INCLUDE ADVANCING EDUCATION OF INDIVIDUALS BY DEVELOPING THEIR MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND MORAL CAPABILITIES; 1.3 THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY AND/OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ANYWHERE IN THE UK BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, HEALTHCARE PROJECTS AND ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT DESIGNED TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO GENERATE A SUSTAINABLE INCOME AND BE SELF-SUFFICIENT; 1.4 THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OF PEOPLE, EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY, BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY FOR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS SERVICES OR FACILITIES; 1.5 THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY PROVIDING: GRANTS, ITEMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY; 1.6 ANY OTHER PURPOSES CURRENTLY RECOGNISED AS BEING CHARITABLE WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE CHARITIES ACT 2011. NOTHING IN THIS DEED SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
