Charitable objects
TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO ASYLUM SEEKERS AND THOSE GRANTED REFUGEE STATUS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS LIVING (TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY) IN LUTON, BY THE PROVISION OF A DROP IN CENTRE, SO AS TO ADVANCE THEM IN LIFE AND ASSIST THEM WITH THE ADAPTION WITHIN A NEW COMMUNITY, WITH THE OBJECTS OF: - 1. PROVIDING FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; AND 2. THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP THROUGH THE PROVISION OF ESSENTIAL GOODS AND SUPPORT AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE, WHICH THEY WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
