THE ASSOCIATION IS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE HANDSWORTH AREA, AND PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, MEMBERS OF THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY WHO ARE RESIDENT OR LIVING THEREIN (I) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION (II) TE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (III) THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF YOUNG UNEMPLOYED PERSONS (INCLUDING THE TEACHING OF LIFE SKILLS) THE BETTER ENABLING THEM TO COPE WITH THE BUSINESS OF LIFE; AND (IV) TE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPAION OF PERSONS WHO HAVE IN NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMTN, POVERTY, OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR SUCH PERSONS.
