The society has an educational purpose, and aims to promote the study of ancient biomolecules to better understand our shared past. We provide micro-grants, bursaries, and prizes.

THE OBJECTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR BIOMOLECULAR ARCHAEOLOGY ARE TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BIOMOLECULAR ARCHAEOLOGY AND ITS ALLIED SCIENCES WORLDWIDE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH, THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING AND TECHNICAL METHODS AND SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE.
