Charitable objects
INTRODUCTION IGBUZO (ALSO IGBO-?Z? OR IBUSA) IS ONE OF THE PROMINENT IGBO COMMUNITIES IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA, FOUNDED C. 1450. IT HAS AN ESTIMATED POPULATION OF 566,310 PEOPLE IN 2009. THE PEOPLE SPEAK THE ENUAN? DIALECT OF THE IGBO LANGUAGE FAMILY. THE NAME OF THE COMMUNITY IS MORE COMMONLY AND OFFICIALLY KNOWN AND WRITTEN AS IBUSA BUT PRONOUNCED IGBUZO. GEOGRAPHICALLY IT IS LOCATED ON THE WEST BANK OF THE RIVER NIGER CLOSE TO THE DELTA STATE CAPITAL, ASABA, NIGERIA. THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: - 1. THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN IBUSA TOWN IN NIGERIA BY PROVIDING GRANTS, ITEMS, AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED. 2. TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN IBUSA TOWN IN NIGERIA BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, TRADE SKILLS, APPRENTICESHIP AND ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT DESIGNED TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO GENERATE A SUSTAINABLE INCOME AND BE SELF-SUFFICIENT. 3. TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT GOOD HEALTH IN IBUSA TOWN IN NIGERIA BY SUPPORTING HEALTHCARE PROJECTS. 4. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING A MEMBER OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY.” 5. TO PROMOTE IBUSA ARTS, CULTURE, LANGUAGE, AND HERITAGE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
