We provide a non-dogmatic spiritual community for people of all faiths or none. We support people to find their own meaning in life. We foster a community of mutual support, compassion and care. We provide a non-discriminatory service in the marking of significant life events, including birth, marriage (including same-sex) and death. We work for social justice, both locally and globally.

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE THE UNITARIAN AND FREE CHRISTIAN RELIGION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:- (A) PROMOTING A FREE, NON-DOGMATIC AND ENQUIRING RELIGION IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITARIAN MOVEMENT, IN A WELCOMING COMMUNITY BASED ON NON-DISCRIMINATION AND CARE FOR OTHERS, WHICH WILL HELP PEOPLE OF ALL RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS AND NONE FIND THEIR OWN SPIRITUAL PATH, BASED ON EXPLORATION, QUESTIONING, INSIGHT, INTUITION AND REASON; (B) FOSTERING A COMMUNITY OF MUTUAL SUPPORT AND CARE; (C) PROVIDING A NON-DISCRIMINATORY SERVICE TO MEMBERS AND TO THE PUBLIC IN THE MARKING OF SIGNIFICANT LIFE EVENTS, INCLUDING BIRTH, MARRIAGE AND DEATH; AND (D) WORKING FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND PROGRESS, BOTH IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND GLOBALLY. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT 2011.
