The Trust was formed in 1882 covering 28 acres of park land in central Keswick, Cumbria adjoining the river Greta. A new scheme was drawn in 1995 and management of the Parks is now the responsibility of Keswick Town Council as sole trustee.

THE OBJECT OF THE FITZ PARK SHALL BE THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PUBLIC PARK AND RECREATION GROUND FOR THE USE OF THE INHABITANTS OF AND VISITORS TO THE TOWN OF KESWICK WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.
